School Uniform

School uniform helps children to feel they belong to the school community and it is practical and smart.

The uniform at St Thomas' consists of:

  • a grey woollen v-neck jumper or cardigan with a burgundy stripe and the school logo on
  • grey trousers (shorts can be worn in summer months)
  • burgundy skirt or pinafore
  • white shirt
  • burgundy and grey striped tie
  • black shoes (no boots or trainers)
  • black or grey socks/tights

PE Kit:

All children must change out of every day clothes for PE lessons. Long hair must be tied in a bobble.

       Gymnastics and dance:

  • burgundy sports shorts (not cycling shorts)
  • burgundy and white PE shirt with the school logo on
  • the children do gymnastics and dance barefoot but black pumps should be in their bag for outdoor sessions when the weather is suitable



  • burgundy and white PE shirt with school logo on/ grey hooded sweatshirt for colder weather
  • burgundy shorts/ black jogging bottoms for colder weather
  • white socks
  • black pumps/ trainers for outside



  • swimming trunks (not shorts)
  • swimming costume (not 2-piece)
  • towel
  • goggles and swimming hat are optional

PE kits should in a named draw-string bag and kept in school throughout the week. Please put your child's name on all items of uniform.


Hair and earrings:

All the schools in Lowton and Golborne have agreed the following:

  • hair should be tied back with a simple bobble
  • no hair bands, clips or other accessories are allowed
  • no earrings are allowed
